[Los Angeles, CA] In honor of Women’s History Month, Councilwoman Heather Hutt continued her celebration of female excellence by honoring both the JAMZ National Championship-winning Baldwin Hills Bruins Cheer & Dance Team and the dance and entertainment powerhouse, Storm DeBarge, in the Los Angeles City Hall John Ferraro Council Chambers on Friday, March 21st, 2025.

Councilwoman Hutt expressed deep admiration for all of the honorees, stating, “Through their hard work and dedication, these young women are role models who are creating the future of Los Angeles. Their journeys are a testament to the power of hard work and believing in yourself.”

Storm DeBarge, one of the most sought after talents in the world of entertainment and dance, performances are a cultural moment as much as an experience. She has collaborated with industry giants like Nike, Red Bull, BET, the NFL, and Liquid IV. She also captivated millions in Kendrick Lamar's 'Not Like Us', and has electrified stages alongside Ciara, Megan Thee Stallion, and Busta Rhymes.

At the 2025 JAMZ National Championship, the Baldwin Hills Bruins Cheer & Dance Team demonstrated extraordinary talent, with three divisions earning national titles. These remarkable young athletes, ranging in age from 4 to 14, bring great pride to the entire Council District 10 community.

Today’s presentation furthers Councilwoman Hutt’s commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders within the City of Los Angeles. For more information about events and services in the Tenth District, please visit: https://councildistrict10.lacity.gov/.
